Mike Hogarth

Internist, Professor of Biomedical Informatics

Dr. Hogarth is an Internist and Professor of Biomedical Informatics at UC San Diego Health System, where he also serves as a Clinical Research Information Officer (CRIO). In that role, he leads a biomedical informatics team that manages a large clinical research informatics infrastructure.  Dr. Hogarth has been involved in a number of large-scale initiatives including the Athena Breast Health Network the I-SPY2 adaptive breast cancer trial, UC-Research eXchange (UC-ReX), and the pSCANNER clinical data research network   He has also been a national leader in the re-engineering of vital statistics systems. Dr. Hogarth led the team that developed and has hosted the California Integrated Vital Records System (CalIVRS) since 2005.  His team also designed and developed the Maryland Electronic Vital Records Registration System (MD-EVRRS).
