Aaron Schulman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His research focuses on building and deploying large-scale measurement systems to analyze the fundamental properties of modern infrastructure. He investigates critical aspects of connectivity and security in networked systems.
Schulman earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland in 2013 under the mentorship of Neil Spring. His dissertation was recognized with the prestigious ACM SIGCOMM Doctoral Dissertation Award. He then continued his research as a postdoctoral scholar at Stanford University from 2013 to 2016, working with Sachin Katti.
In 2023, Schulman received the National Science Foundation’s Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award for his project, Protecting Critical Infrastructure Against Wireless Attacks. His research aims to establish security principles and cyber defenses tailored to safeguard critical infrastructure from wireless threats.
